Rams design dams

Senior design is the year-long capstone engineering project that all Civil & Environmental Engineering undergraduates undertake in their senior year. This year, two groups took on the challenge to design an earthen embankment dam. The groups imagined that two of the dams above Fort Collins that hold Horsetooth Reservoir had never been built, and were being constructed today using modern design requirements and software (the dams were originally designed and constructed in the late 1940s, and retrofitted in the early 2000s). The groups also created dam physical models to demonstrate their design concept. Great job "Impermeables" and "Dam Rams"!
